Bush presses Congress for antiterrorism laws

WASHINGTON, DC - President Bush pressed Congress on Thursday to approve new military tribunals to try terrorism suspects, a day after he admitted the CIA ran secret prisons overseas where accused militants were detained.

In his latest speech marking the fifth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on the United States, Bush sought to rally public support for his anti-terrorism strategy in the face of formidable court challenges and international condemnation. Read more.
