| Prison walk raises awareness |

ATLANTA, GA - Participants in the Prison and Jail Project's 11th annual FreedomWalk began Sunday. The weeklong 100 mile "journey for justice" will go through four southwest Georgia counties. Organizers are expecting about 15 to 20 people walking everyday this week. While walking every year, these walkers are sparking attention to many. "Even sometimes people will stop, get out, and walk with us for awhile. The will even sometimes tell stories about a family member who did some prison time," said Elizabeth Dede, FreedomWalk Participant. Each participant says they have their own reasons for walking. "I am concerned about how people get treated in our courts by policing agencies and in our prisons throughout the state," said Mike Vosburg Casey, FreedomWalk Participant. Read more.
