| County wants $75M for new jail |

ELYRIA, OH - Sheriff's Capt. James Drozdowski wants the state to set aside $75 million to build a new facility to alleviate overcrowding at the county jail. Drozdowski asked state Sen. Jeffry Armbruster earlier this year to include the project in the state's next capital budget. But Lorain County Commissioner Ted Kalo said getting the requested money is a long shot at best. “We're asking for $75 million; what are all of the other counties in the state asking for?” he said. Commissioners Betty Blair and Lori Kokoski said they aren't hopeful either. “It's nice to hear that he's asking for money, but I wouldn't hold my breath,” Blair said. Read more.
