| Mistrial declared in Aryan gang trial |

SACRAMENTO, CA - A federal judge declared a mistrial Friday in the sentencing phase of the trial for two convicted leaders of the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang after jurors were unable to decide whether to apply the death penalty. The ruling means Barry "The Baron" Mills and Tyler "The Hulk" Bingham will serve life in prison without parole for murder, racketeering and conspiracy. The same jury convicted Mills and Tyler in July. Jurors were then asked, in a separate proceeding, to determine whether Mills, 58, and Bingham, 59 should be sentenced to death or life in prison without possibility of parole. After 3 1/2 days of deliberations, jurors told the judge Thursday they were deadlocked, but he ordered them to return to the jury room and try to resolve their differences.
