LA VILLA, TX - Authorities say six federal inmates who escaped a Texas jail last night are considered "very dangerous and armed." The men overpowered an officer and cut through at least four fences at the East Hidalgo Detention Center. The privately-run jail is in La Villa, about 20 miles north of the Mexican border. Dozens of officers are searching for the escapees using bloodhounds and helicopters. |
