| County prison in space crunch |

EASTON, PA - The new Northampton County Prison addition is near capacity and officials may need to start sending prisoners to other facilities by December, said Corrections Director Todd Buskirk. During Monday's county prison advisory board meeting Buskirk said the prison's population is at 852 inmates. The news comes three months after the new 243-bed, $22.8 million prison addition opened and after officials brought back county inmates housed at other prisons. Read more.
