BOSTON, MA - The Department of Corrections is getting just over 421-thousand dollars to help inmates transition back to life outside prison. The grant is part of a nationwide 12 million dollar federal award from the Department of Justice. Massachusetts will use its share to evaluate inmates before they're released and develop transition plans with community-based agencies to help inmates find work and access critical services.
