THE HAGUE, NETHERLANDS The Dutch ministers of justice and housing resigned Thursday after an independent investigation partially blamed the departments for safety lapses in a fire that killed 11 illegal immigrants awaiting deportation in an airport jail. The resignation announcement by Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner was followed by a similar statement to parliament by Housing Minister Sybilla Dekker. |
