EBENSBURG, PA - A quick-reaction SERT team shot and killed an accused murderer at the county jail late Friday, just as he raised his arm to stab a guard with a homemade shank. “He was going to kill him,” Sheriff Bob Kolar said in an interview with The Tribune-Democrat. “Definitely.” The death of prisoner Torone Dixon, 25, of Altoona, capped a harrowing day at the Cambria County Prison that included fistfights, the brutal beating of the guard, the injury of another inmate and a suicide. “We're in lockdown at this point,” Warden John J.
