ST. PAUL, MN - Convicted murderer Leonard Richards, who has run twice for federal office from prison, is suing state officials for thwarting his plans to run again for the U.S. Senate this year. In a lawsuit that was moved from Rice County District Court to U.S. District Court last week, Richards alleges that Faribault state prison officials interfered with his mailings and denied him access to documents, making it impossible for him to file as a candidate.
