MUSCOGEE COUNTY, GA - Muscogee County Prison Warden W.W. Adamson stood proudly before the Columbus City Counsel Tuesday morning and listened as Mayor Pro Temp Jack Rogers moved to adopt a proclamation commending and congratulating his correctional facility for achieving the honor of Prison of the Year. The Georgia Department of Corrections gave the prestigious Correctional Facility of the Year award to Adamson and his staff Sept. 19 at their annual award ceremony in Forsyth. Adamson expressed his sincere gratitude to the counsel and to the Georgia Department of Corrections Tuesday, but most of all he wanted to recognize his staff for a job well done. "I deeply and sincerely appreciate your comments," Adamson said to Mayor Bob Poydasheff. "I just let my staff do what they know to do and they do a fine fine job." Read more.
