FORT MADISON, IA - Experts will look for weak spots in security at the Iowa State Penitentiary, nearly a year after two inmates escaped from the Fort Madison prison. A two-person team from the National Institute of Corrections will spend two days at the prison next month, conducting a security audit, said Larry Brimeyer, deputy state corrections department director. “They are going to look at the whole facility, everything we do there, but with a specific eye toward perimeter security,” Brimeyer said.
