Enron Ex-Executive sentenced

Paula Rieker, the former No. 2 executive in investor relations at Enron Corp. and later the energy giant's corporate secretary, was sentenced to two years of probation for insider trading.

Ms. Rieker, 52 years old, had faced up to 10 years in prison, but prosecutors requested leniency in her sentencing due to her cooperation in the Enron probe, which included key testimony at the blockbuster trial of Enron founder Kenneth Lay and former Chief Executive Jeffrey Skilling. Ms. Rieker had pleaded guilty to insider trading for selling Enron shares in mid-2001 upon learning that Enron's broadband unit had lost millions of dollars more than had been publicly disclosed.
