NEW CASTLE, IN - The New Castle Correctional Facility will hire 200 new employees and house 1,200 California inmates as a result of a deal forged by the prison's private management company and the states of Indiana and California. A day after California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency for California's 33 prisons, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels announced Thursday that the New Castle Correctional Facility will begin to house California inmates in the next 90 days. Read more.
