TALLAHASSEE, FL - The state is likely to award an $872 million, 10-year contract next week to a Pennsylvania company to provide health care for 17,000 inmates in South Florida. Contract administrators with the Florida Department of Corrections opened bid packages Friday morning, but a department spokeswoman said she could not confirm the bid amounts or even the names of the competitors.
