| County moves toward new jail |

GLADE COUNTY, FL - Sheriff Joey Dobson has sought a way to fund a new detention facility for the past few years. After pitching the concept of funding a new jail through a deal with the federal government to house illegal immigrants for the Department of Homeland Security (ICE) last month, County Manager Joe Cone and Attorney Terry Brown were directed to look into a similar deal in Glades County. Following a lengthy discussion of the projects merits and funding the county commissioners voted to proceed with the project. Cone presented his summary at Monday's County meeting.
