Alternatives put county on cutting edge

MONROE, WA - Not everyone who has committed a crime and stood before a judge serves time in the Monroe County jail. Some of those have the Monroe County Community Corrections Department to thank.

"I can't tell you the number of letters I get from these people, saying thanks for giving me the opportunity to do something instead of rotting in jail," says Monroe County District Court Judge Jack Vitale. Read more.
