Poor progress in training of CA officers

SACRAMENTO, CA - The state corrections department has made little progress in improving recruiting standards and training for prison officers since a critical audit 16 months ago, the department's inspector general said Wednesday.

Most of the seven recommendations from the May 2005 audit have not been followed, Inspector General Matthew Cate said in a follow-up review. Read more.
