| Staff shortage causes lockdown |

HINDS COUNTY, MS - No visitation. Limited recreation. Lockdown. Until the Hinds County Detention Center at Raymond is fully staffed again, inmates will be allowed to leave their cells only for a shower, shave and a few minutes of exercise, according to Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin. "It's a safety issue," he said. "We have to protect the deputies and the inmates." For the past week, the more than 500 inmates have been on lockdown. Read more.
