Commissioners consider jail ruling

BEAVER, PA - The Beaver County Commissioners are expected to announce today whether they will appeal a county judge's decision prohibiting them from privatizing the jail for at least three years.

And, while the county's maximum liability for costs incurred by Massachusetts-based CiviGenics in preparing to take over the jail were capped at $125,000 in its contract, the company has already argued that it should be paid more, said Rob Cyphert, the county's chief financial officer. Read more.
