WHITE LAKE, NC - Randy Register is Bladen Correctional Center's new superintendent. For the past 18 months, Register has served as acting superintendent at the men's minimum-security prison. He became a CO in 1987 Central Prison in Raleigh and then worked at Sampson Correctional Institution, where he was promoted to captain. In May 2004, Register left Sampson to become Bladen's assistant superintendent. Register is a native of Sampson's County Midway community and is currently a student in the department's Correctional Leadership Development Program. He also teaches a variety of correctional skills classes. Bladen CC is a minimum-custody prison housing approximately 170 inmates and employing a staff of 58. OROFINO, ID - Kim Jones has become the warden for the Idaho Correctional Institution Orofino. She has been acting warden since last spring. “Through her consistency and professionalism, Kim has proven she is the right fit for this position,” said IDDCO Director Vaughn Killeen. “For many months now Kim has risen to the occasion when her staff, or the department, has needed her.” Jones was first hired to work at Orofino prison in 1997 as a contract substance abuse counselor. She was hired by the IDDOC in 2000 as a program manager. Orofino houses medium, minimum, and community custody male offenders, and includes a 100-bed work camp for low-risk offenders, who assist with fighting wildfires and community service in the region. BALTIMORE, MD - Maryland's Governor Robert L. Ehrlich appointed Roberto "Tito" Rodriguez to serve as deputy secretary of operations for the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services. The swearing in ceremony took place in the office of the Clerk of the Court for Baltimore County on October 10. Tito has more than twenty-five years experience in juvenile justice and adult corrections. |
