N.H. prisons seek 30 percent budget increase

CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Corrections is seeking a 30 percent budget increase over the next two years, primarily to pay for increased medical costs in prisons.

Corrections Commissioner William Wrenn asked Governor John Lynch's office today for an increase of $55 million in the state budget for fiscal 2008 and 2009. Read more.
