ALBEMARLE, NC - A judge granted death row inmate Guy Tobias LeGrande a 60-day stay Monday to allow psychiatrists to determine whether the man who wore a Superman T-shirt and pleaded with jurors to sentence him to death while representing himself at trial is mentally ill. LeGrande had been scheduled to die Friday. During a hearing in Stanly Superior Court, Judge William R. Bell gave the psychiatrists 45 days to submit their observations and evaluations to the court.
