TUSCON, AZ - Six correctional officers were said to be injured this afternoon when a violent prisoner burst into a prison program office and began beating officers at the state prison complex on South Wilmot Road. One officer sustained a non-life threatening injury - a cut on her forehead - but was taken to a Tucson hospital, where she was expected to be treated and released, said Katie Decker, a state Department of Corrections spokeswoman.
