| Inmates to clean up city's image |

CHARLOTTE, NC - State officials said Monday that they will add up to two extra prison work crews to clean the mess of plastic sheeting, fast-food wrappers, mattresses and shredded tires that line Mecklenburg's interstate highways. That's a major improvement for a county that historically gets, at most, six crews, said Barry Moose, the top engineer for the N.C. Department of Transportation in the Charlotte region. Read more.
