CANYON COUNTY, ID - Canyon County Sheriff Chris Smith says his first priority continues to be a jail expansion. Smith took office two years ago. He says progress has been made in his effort to get more space to house inmates. County commissioners have held a series of town hall meetings on the issue and a citizen committee is studying solutions to the problem of overcrowding. Read more.
