| Court rules against AZ abortion policy |

PHOENIX, AZ - A state appellate court today ruled that a Maricopa County policy against transporting jail inmates for elective abortions without a court order can't be enforced. The American Civil Liberties Union had sued to challenge Sheriff Joe Arpaio's policy and won in trial court. Arpaio appealed but the Court of Appeals today upheld the lower court ruling. Read more.
