| New IN jail already overcrowded |

EVANSVILLE, IN - Vanderburgh County's new jail is nearly twice as large as the one it replaced, but it's already exceeding its capacity a year after its opening. The new jail in Evansville was built with room for 512 inmates, but the Evansville Courier and Press reports that daily counts have gone as high as 540.
