Indiana Plainfield Correctional Facility teacher Chuck Orth was recently inducted into the National Honor Roll's Outstanding American Teachers Hall of Fame. Orth, who teaches horticulture and landscaping, was nominated by a former PCF student.“The facility's Arthur Campbell High School is fortunate to have Mr. Orth on our team. It is an honor for him to receive this distinguished nomination,” says PCF Superintendent Wendy Knight. The NHR hall of fame recognizes educators who have made a positive difference in their students' lives. “This is a proud moment for the Department to have one of our employees recognized nationally by a prestigious organization,” says INDOC Commissioner, J. David Donahue. “Education is a priority at the Department of Correction and we are always trying to improve our service delivery in the programming areas.” |
