COOK COUNTY, IL - It took a federal judge about five minutes today to deny an emergency injunction for a Cook County Jail official who has sued County Commissioner William Beavers and Sheriff Tom Dart claiming his demotion was political. U.S. District Court Judge David Coar rejected the injunction bid by Sammie Young Jr., who sued Monday contending he was demoted from jail superintendent to sergeant after reporting two sheriff's officers for campaigning for Beavers and County Board President Todd Stroger while in uniform.
