SALINAS VALLEY, CA - Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad is one of seven in the state that would get new mental health units, according to officials for the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Prison officials released a plan Thursday to build the new mental health units, adding to a proposal to construct new medical centers at some of the same facilities. Read more.
