TOWSON, MD Patuxent Institution CO, Sgt. Dave Cacciotti, will receive an official commendation for rescuing a van driver who crashed on the prison's lawn after he was allegedly rammed, chased and rear-ended by another driver. Cacciotti saw two vehicles drive off a local highway and head for the front of the Patuxent gatehouse. The two drivers exited their vehicles, briefly struggled and then ran inside the gatehouse. Cacciotti subdued the alleged attacker, called for backup and contacted police. “I looked up and saw a white van with headlights coming right at me,” the 14-year veteran says. According to police, the victim says he was rammed on Interstate 95, and after exiting the highway, was hit again before being rear-ended onto the Patuxent lawn. Maryland State Police took the alleged attacker to the hospital for evaluation. Cacciotti says he doesn't need the commendation to feel rewarded. “My reward is to come to work and do the job,” he says. |

Our truck accident lawyers have seen many causes of these accidents. They can often include an improper lane change, incorrect stopping distance, defective equipment, an inexperienced driver, an unqualified driver and road defects. Our team of trucking accident attorneys will investigate your accident with the help of experts to determine the most likely cause of your 18 wheeler accident. While you wait for the conclusion of your truck accident claim, your Truck accident attorney can work around the clock to address issues such as medical bills, calls from creditors, communications from insurance companies, and legal fees. Semi truck owners are required to carry more extensive insurance coverage, the trucks are subject to a strictly controlled maintenance schedule, and drivers are required to track and limit their time on the road. But many trucking companies pressure their drivers to drive without sleep to get to their destination. This creates fatigue for the truck driver.
