| Bill for inmate testing tabled |

LITTLE ROCK, AR - A House committee Thursday tabled legislation that would require prison inmates to be tested for certain communicable diseases before they could be paroled. The House Public Health, Welfare and Labor Committee voted 13-4 to table House Bill 1444 by Rep. Fred Allen, D-Little Rock, after several members raised questions about implementation of the bill. The parliamentary procedure makes it more difficult for a legislator to have legislation reconsidered by a committee. Read more.
