| Prison will reopen as re-entry facility |

WHITE LAKE, MI - The former Camp Gilman prison in White Lake Township will emerge from mothballs in March after nearly three years of nonuse as a women's correctional facility, according to the Michigan Department of Corrections. "It will be reopened as a woman's re-entry facility called Camp White Lake," said corrections department spokesman Russ Marlan. "It will be for female prisoners who have been approved for parole by the parole board. We have a similar type program we opened last year in Tuscola." Read more.
