Department fined for dumping sewage

SACRAMENTO, CA - The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation discharged partially-treated sewage and sewage sludge from Mule Creek State Prison in Amador County to small waterways, including nearby Mule Creek.

The state department faces a $50,000 fine for discharging the sewage on eight occasions from July 2006 through January 2007, according to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board in Rancho Cordova. The water board had cited the corrections department for overflow problems at the prison in September and October. Read more.

    Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail.
