County filters out jail woes

YAKIMA, WA - A lingering problem with ventilation system filters appears to be the only issue from the first week's operation of the new Yakima County jail, county commissioners learned Wednesday.

A transition into the $21 million building near Pacific Avenue and South 18th Street is going so smoothly that commissioners are doing away with regular meetings specifically to update them on the jail's progress. Read more.
