YAKIMA, WA - A lingering problem with ventilation system filters appears to be the only issue from the first week's operation of the new Yakima County jail, county commissioners learned Wednesday. A transition into the $21 million building near Pacific Avenue and South 18th Street is going so smoothly that commissioners are doing away with regular meetings specifically to update them on the jail's progress.
