WISCASSET, ME - Members of the Lincoln and Sagadahoc Multicounty Jail Authority got their first look at the second operating budget for the Two Bridges Regional Jail Wednesday afternoon. Corrections Administrator Wayne Applebee made the presentation of the fiscal year 2007-08 budget, which totals $6,324,292. If the budget were to be approved as is, Lincoln County's share would be $3,709,585, a decrease over this year's operating budget of 11.8 percent. Sagadahoc County's share of $3,053,382 would represent a decrease of 13.3 percent from this year's budget. Those figures include not only the proposed operating budget, but debt service and a capital improvement plan. Read more.
