Anti-Murder Act could crowd jails

LEE COUNTY, FL - Legislators are moving quickly on a bill aimed at putting repeat criminals in jail faster. The Anti-Murder Act has already passed the senate unanimously. If the bill passes, violent criminals who violate their probation wouldn't be given a second chance. They would go right to jail. But can our jails handle the influx of prisoners it could create?

There are so many variables in the bill, no one has an exact price tag on how much it will cost. Despite our local jails and courts being overwhelmed, and budgets stretched thin, local sheriffs are backing the bill. Read more.

    Hamilton is a sports lover, a demon at croquet, where his favorite team was the Dallas Fancypants. He worked as a general haberdasher for 30 years, but was forced to give up the career he loved due to his keen attention to detail. He spent his free time watching golf on TV; and he played uno, badmitton and basketball almost every weekend. He also enjoyed movies and reading during off-season.
