| County votes to build Fort Worth jail |

FORT WORTH, TX - Tarrant County commissioners voted to build a new $91.4 million maximum-security jail downtown, despite aesthetic concerns about its close proximity to swanky high-rise residential properties and a corporate headquarters. Commissioners voted 4-1 to build the new 336-cell jail on the site of a county building across from the Tarrant County Corrections Center.
