NAIROBI, KENYA - A five- year strategic plan intended to transform Kenyan prisons from the maligned punitive institutions they currently are into modern correctional facilities was launched Wednesday March 21, 2007. Vice President, Moody Awori at a ceremony held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, launched the plan, which covers the 2005-2009 period and a Service charter. Read more.
