CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA - A woman wanted to bail her boyfriend, a native of Guatemala, out of the Chesterfield County Jail. He was charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. Bail was set at $2,000. She couldn't do it, recalled bail bondswoman Nazira Z. Cabrera, whom the woman had asked for help. The reason came as a surprise to Cabrera. The accused man couldn't be released because federal Immigration and Custom Enforcement officials issued a detainer. Read more.
