| Arkansas shakes up leadership |

Arkansas Department of Correction Director Larry Norris has promoted and re-assigned wardens to bolster leadership at area facilities. Major Dexter Payne is now an assistant warden at the ARDOC's Grimes Unit in Newport, and Major Aundrea Weekley was promoted to Assistant Warden for the East Arkansas Regional Unit. Stephen Williams recently became Deputy Warden for the Pine Bluff facility, which has a hospital, canine unit, horse operation and a mental health program. East Arkansas Regional Unit Deputy Warden, Randy Watson, has been re-assigned to the Wrightsville facility. In addition, Pine Bluff Deputy Warden Randall Manus will now help manage the ARDOC's maximum security facility as that unit's former Deputy Warden, Tommy James, has moved to the Tucker facility, which includes programs like mattress manufacturing, bus and fire truck refurbishing, and school desk and chair repair. “Please join me in congratulating these staff members on their promotions, and support all of them as they assume their new duties in the ARDOC.” Norris says. “I feel they are an asset to this department.” |
