Ladder Barbara Sampson is the new MIDOC parole board chairperson, replacing outgoing chairman and Deputy Director of Field Operations Administration John Rubitschun.

"Barb brings a rich experience in the corrections field to this new role and I am confident that she will be a dynamic and innovative leader as we move forward during these difficult times," says MIDOC Director Patricia L. Caruso.

Sampson was appointed to the board in 2003. Prior to that, she was with the Manager of Adult Programs for the Wayne County Department of Child and Family Services. "I think this is an unprecedented time in parole board history," says Sampson. "The MIDOC is transforming the way we do business, and I'm excited to be part of the new future of the department.”

Other new board members include Sharee Booker, John Schlinker and Laurin Thomas who will server until September 30, 2010.

Booker has been with the MIDOC since 1984 and was the Deputy Regional Administrator for Wayne County's Region I Field Operations Administration. Schlinker is a former prosecutor and served as Government Affairs Director for the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 951. Thomas was an attorney for UAW-GM Legal Services and previously practiced law in various jurisdictions.

Our truck accident lawyers have seen many causes of these accidents. They can often include an improper lane change, incorrect stopping distance, defective equipment, an inexperienced driver, an unqualified driver and road defects. Our team of trucking accident attorneys will investigate your accident with the help of experts to determine the most likely cause of your 18 wheeler accident. While you wait for the conclusion of your truck accident claim, your truck accident lawyer can work around the clock to address issues such as medical bills, calls from creditors, communications from insurance companies, and legal fees. Semi truck owners are required to carry more extensive insurance coverage, the trucks are subject to a strictly controlled maintenance schedule, and drivers are required to track and limit their time on the road. But many trucking companies pressure their drivers to drive without sleep to get to their destination. This creates fatigue for the truck driver.
