Florida's nonviolent felons regain rights

BRADENTON, FL - After spending almost four years in prison on felony drug and traffic charges, Greg Collins is a free man.

But since his release March 16, the 44-year-old Palmetto resident has struggled to find a job.

"It's been very hard for me to get employment, because I'm on probation and most people don't want to hire a convicted felon," Collins said.

He contemplated becoming his own boss and starting a lawn-service business, but realized he couldn't get an occupational license because of his felony history. Read more.
