| Few fear larger women's prison |

MITCHELLVILLE, IA - It's hard to find anybody in this town worried about his or her safety, even as state officials study plans to bring hundreds of additional inmates to the state women's prison here. This central Iowa community of 2,000 people has been home to the Iowa Correctional Institution for Women for 25 years. There hasn't been an escape from the prison since 1995, and most residents shrug when asked about their convict neighbors - 622 women serving time for murder, drug-dealing, prostitution and other crimes.
