An inmate who escaped Feb. 20 from the Jackson County (Miss.) Adult Detention Center has been recaptured at an Alabama motel. He was being held at the Mobile County Metro Jail where he will be picked up by Mississippi Department of Corrections officials. Swinney, who had been convicted of possession of a controlled substance, was awaiting transportation to the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility in Pearl at the time of his escape.
