| Bill to permit fewer inmates at TYC |

AUSTIN, TX - The chairman of the state House Corrections Committee Monday presented a bill that would permit fewer inmates at Texas Youth Commission facilities. House Bill 2807 would not allow judges to send offenders with misdemeanors to TYC facilities. There are 478 inmates who have committed minor crimes locked up or in halfway houses. Read more.
