| Probation funds eyed to hire more staff |

YOLO COUNTY, CA - Yolo County's chief probation officer, Don Meyer, is pinning his hopes on the governor's desire to do something with community corrections. Under Gov. Schwarzenegger's proposed 2007-08 budget, money is allocated for young offenders - $50 million for the rest of this year and $100 million annually thereafter to fund probation services for criminals age 18 to 25.
