VICTORIA COUNTY, TX - A proposal to switch prescription drug providers for the Victoria County Jail inmates and save taxpayers an estimated $40,000 a year was ratified by the Commissioners Court on Monday. That action affirms a contract with Secure Pharmacy Plus based in Franklin, Tenn. Michelle Samford, the financial administrator for the sheriff's office, has said she's budgeted $120,000 this year for the drugs under that contract. That compares to the $160,000 bill she said the county paid last year under the contract with Rogers Pharmacy in Victoria. Read more.
