PHOENIX, AZ - Legislation pushed by a Republican lawmaker with the backing of the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADOC) will expand a transition program helping prepare a group of inmates re-enter the free world. The expanded program will be funded by 5 percent of prisoners' wages, generating an estimated $650,000 a year and enabling 650 inmates to participate, according to ADOC. Read more.
